Beauty|Baking|Fashion|Lifestyle Blog

I've started this blog to talk about the things I love; one of them being beauty. I'm a 14 year old girl who loves all things beauty related - skincare, makeup, hair, nails; so much so that when I'm older I want to become a dermatologist. Because I'm only 14 I find that all the best beauty bloggers are 20+ which means their skin is different and they are able to wear make up to there heart's content, where as we have to wear the "right amount" for our age. This blog is for everyone. But I will be aiming it at girls my age, who are interested in mainly beauty, but also baking, fashion and healthy eating. I upload every Sunday. :)

October Favourites

So I know this is late but I thought I'd post this anyway because I just LOVE these things and I thought I should let you guys know.
So these two are the OGX coconut water shampoo and conditioner. I'm just gonna throw this out there ... THESE ARE AMAZING!!!!! I think it might be the coconut oil in them, but this shampoo and conditioner literally make my hair feel the softest it has felt in years! It makes your hair really soft and lightweight. I know this sounds a bit weird but it is like your hair feels ten times lighter than it did before. I don't know how you guys would feel about this but I love the feeling! I was really surprised when I first bought these because I picked them up in a local supermarket when it was buy one get one half price! (They were £6.99 each)  I'd hear a couple of people talk about them but I didn't realise how good they were!

Because it's getting colder one thing everyone wants is a good body moisturiser and naturally, when I was walking through Boots, I stopped at the Soap and Glory counter to smell some! I'd never tried this one before, and every time I put it on I literally want to eat the whole tub, it smells that good! ... Is that a bit weird... I think so! I also really like the consistency of this moisturiser, because it is a "lightly whipped body buttercream" it is thicker than a body lotion, which I personally don't like in Autumn/Winter because I get really dry skin, but it's thinner than a body butter which can take a really long time to soke in. I think this was around £10. You also get a HUGE tub so I definitely think it's worth the money.

So this is the Elemis peachy perfect flash wash. As you can see I'm about half way through this, so I think that's a clear indication that I've used it! I've been using this face wash in the mornings because it really wakes you up in the morning, and the last thing you want late at night is to be a sleepy as a hamster at night! Also, I'm trying out another cleanser, which might make an appearance soon! To be honest when it comes to cleansers unless there is a clear difference in your skin there's nothing really to look for. It cleanses my face and it smells nice what else do you want! By the way guys I think Elemis might be discontinuing this soon so if you want it go grab it! I think this was quite expensive so to be honest I don't think it was really worth it.

First of all I would like to say that this my favourite scent from the Body Shop. It smells quite floral but fruity and is a really fresh scent. It's also a great hand cream! Towards Autumn/Winter my hands get much much drier and they go all tight and start to crack (Gross right?) and this is when I always have a hand cream on me! I love this one because it is light and a little goes a long way. I think towards the winter I will be using a thicket one that hydrates my hands deeper in the skin. But for now I'm LOVING this hand cream. I actually got this in a set as a present but online it says it is £4.

This is possibly my favourite of all of them this month. Archery by Soap and Glory brow pencil. I love this product because it has a really nice consistency and it sits really nicely. It also lasts all day and perfectly matches my brow colour! I literally have nothing bad to say about it. Another reason  I love this is because it has a little brow spoolie at the other end. This also lasts a really long time. I've been using this every day for a month or two and it's still going on! So that should give you an idea of how long it lasts. This was £8 from Boots.
This is my favourite liquid liner of all. It is perfect because it is like a felt tip pen that is really thin at the tip and really thick near the top. So basically it is a liquid liner for dummies! ( I find liner really hard! ) This is brilliant because it stays all day and it is really easy to fix if you muck it up! (I do this most of the time!) This is £6.99 from Boots which I think is a bargain!

First of all, this colour does look a bit scary but when it's on your lips it looks like a really lovely pinky-purpley berry shade. What I love about it is that it's a really subtle. This was £2 from The Body Shop, which I think is a really good price.

I know these are on the pricier side, but I think these lipsticks are REALLY good. The one on the left is creamsheen shy girl. This is an orangey nude, and I think this looks really great but I can imagine it could look a bit odd on different toned complexions. I have quite a pink complexion so I suppose it depends. The one on the right is creamsheen hot gossip it is a berry toned pink that is perfect for autumn and winter. In this picture they both look a bit darker than in real life, so they aren't that dark! What I love about these lipsticks is that they are really pigmented, but at the same time they can look really subtle. If you apply a thin layer, it comes out with some colour but not too much. OR if you prefer you can go straight in and it builds up to a gorgeous colour! I am LOVING both these colours at the moment, so I hoe you guys go and check them out. The creamsheen part to the name is the formulation. I think cream sheens are my favourite because I like my lipsticks to be really creamy and hydrating, so that when I rub my lips together, they don't stick or feel really dry. My worst nightmare would be to have a lipstick that makes your lips really dry (I get really dry lips anyway!). These are both really creamy and I love the way they sit on my lips. These were £15.50 each which I KNOW is a lot to pay for one lipstick, but I love them sooooooo much!

Last but not least is my Rimmel By Kate Moss lipstick in 38. I picked this one because I think it is a really good dupe for the MAC lipstick I mentioned above. All I would say is that this is slightly more pink toned and slightly less orange toned. It is also a little more drying than the MAC one but I think when it comes to make up, most of the time you get what you pay for. Having said that, I still think there are some really amazing products in the high street stores, and I think this is one of them. As you can see from the photo, I have used all three of these lipsticks so please don't judge the state of them, I just like to use them! Oh! ... I forgot to say that this Rimmel lipstick was £5.49 from Boots. Again I'm really sorry this was so late I just totally forgot to post this! I do have another blogpost coming up soon to make up for that so see you soon!

Soap & Glory Lid Stuff eyeshadow pallet

Hi guys! I love this palette so much that I wanted to share this with you guys. It is really versatile because of the range of matte and shimmer eyeshadows. There are four colours in this palette:
-Vanilla
-Pink T
-Mudhoney
-Aubersheen

Vanilla, is a matte white, with a hint of yellow. This colour is a brilliant brow-bone highlight and great for the inner corner of the eye.
Pink T, has an ever so slight bit of shimmer, but is basically a matte pinky-brown/taupe. I think it is a great all over lid colour. If you wanted to wear makeup when your not really supposed to, but you want a bit of definition, then you could try to run this through your crease. You might have to add a bit more than you usually would.
Mudhoney, is probably my most used out of the eyeshadows in this palette. It is a medium to dark brown matte. I use this in my eyebrows because I have dark eyebrows, but it is also great to blend through the crease of your eye and it is really buildable so if there isn't enough for you, then you can just build it up. I also use mudhoney for a sort of eyeliner when I want to really subtley line my eyes.
Aubersheen, is a bit darker than mudhoney and is a shimmer. I don't use this that often, but it is still a nice colour. You could use this in your crease, or you could try to line your eyes with it if you prefer that to a matte, like mudhoney. I haven't done that though, so I don't know how it would work out.

Out of ten I would probably give this palette a 7 because all the shades are really wearable and you could wear them in all situations. I forgot to say that this palette was £10 but I really think it is worth it because hear you get four, really good eyeshadows, but for the same amount of money you could get one MAC eyeshadow!
I hope you guys liked this review and I have a few more coming up soon.

Sleek, blush by 3 in Californ.I.A

First of all I need to say, I was in a rush when I was in London with my Mum when we popped into the big Boots on Oxford St, so I could look at the sleek stuff. And because all the testers had gone, I picked up what I thought was the blush by 3 in Lace, (because I've been desperate to buy it!) but when I got home I found out it was this one instead, it is called Californ.I.A. I thought I was a total idiot and was going to go and return it wherever the nearest sleek counter is, because my local Boots AND Superdrug don't stock Sleek! But then I tried it the next day, and I FELL IN LOVE!
They are cream blushers, so it depends on your skin type whether they will sit well on your skin. I have combination skin type, but my cheeks can get quite dry so it sits nicely and doesn't run down my face in hot conditions. i.e when you're on holiday.
Newport Beach, is a peachy-pink, but has no glitter/shimmer. I tend to go for blushers with a bit of shimmer because it gives a really healthy, dewy glow, so sometimes I mix it with The Surf because this has some shimmer. But at the same time it's quite nice to use a blush with no shimmer because it looks a bit more natural. If I were to do a school makeup look, (we're not allowed to wear makeup really, but everyone does anyway!) I would use this blush because it gives a really natural, healthy finish.
The Surf, is a orangey-toned nude with shimmer that is really subtle, but looks healthy and dewy at the same time, so I like this one for say, on holiday when you really want to bronze it up!
OC, is the one I use most. It is a quite a bright pink with silver shimmer, but it isn't so bright that it looks like you've been on a long run on a winter's day; it blends nicely so it doesn't give that affect. It just looks like you've got a nice flush to the cheeks. I have pale skin, with what I would say is a slightly redy/pinky undertone to it so this works well. I'm not sure what it would look like on a darker skintones, but I'm sure it would still looks nice!
In all, I think that this is a really good pallet and I would DEFINITELY recomend this to one of my friends. AND it's REALLY good value being only £9.99 for 3 blushers!
I hope those of you who found this useful go and buy it. I use this pallet most days until I realise, as a blogger, I should keep trying new things. Although when I don't like something, I always end up crawling back to it!

Favourite BB creams

BB creams. They are basically a lighter version of foundation, so are great for teenagers because they give some coverage, but they allow your skin to breath. This is VERY important because then your pores won't be clogged up with foundation, causing more oiliness and spots, which I'm sure no one wants!
These are just a few of my favourites (from left - right):
. Rimmel 9 in 1 BB cream
.Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream
.Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm

The Rimmel BB cream is great because it is SPF 25 (I'm sure I don't need to explain why that's good!). It's also quite a thick consistency so it has really good coverage. When it says 9 in 1 it means that it claims to do 9 things in one BB cream. It claims to 1) prime 2) moisturise 3) help minimise the appearance of pores 4) conceales 5) covers 6) smoothes 7) mattifies 8) brightens 9) helps protect and lasts all day. I definitely think it primes and moisturises, although I'm not sure if it helps minimise the appearance of pores because I don't have a problem with huge pores, it also definitely conceales and covers, I do think that it gives a smooth finish, but it it doesn't mattify totally, which I like, because I tried the radiance one, but I just felt like a disco ball in the summer so I found that one was a bit too dewy, and I don't have hugely oily skin, so I didn't even try the matte one because I knew I wouldn't like it, but I tried this one and I fell in love! It is just the right finish for me as it is not too dewy, but not too matte this is great for my skin as it is most definitely combination. I do agree that is last a long time and doesn't go patchy, but I have a SUPER oily nose and chin so any makeup that is there moves around within an hour or two! I still absolutely LOVE this BB cream! You can pick it up in Boots or Superdrug for £6.99
The Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream is probably my least favourite of the three. This is only because it is quite a watery consistency so it takes a long time to get rid of any brush marks, but also, when you have buffed in all the brush marks, it has hardly any coverage! So I usually build on it until I have the coverage I want. I like the finish because it is quite dewy, but I will ALWAYS set it with a powder. You can buy it from Boots or Superdrug for £6.99
This one is my favourite: Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm. It is SPF 20, that's ALWAYS a bonus! It's also broad spectrum, so it adapts to your skintone, which means you don't have to pick a shade! Great huh! Another bonus is that it is oil free, so it suits all skin types oily or not! It is a really good consistency because it isn't too thick, but it isn't too watery, so it's quite light on your skin and allows it to breath. But at the same time it gives great coverage. The only down side it that it is the more pricey option, but I have found that this works the best. You can pick it up in John Lewis or Debenhams because they have more high-end makeup brands. You pick it up from other places, obviously, I was just suggesting these two because they are more high street shops! Rather than saying you can only pick it up from the urban decay shops, or something like that! Anyway... You can get the travel size version, which is 15ml for £9,which is also the one I have in the pictures, or you can get the full size version, which is 35ml for £23.50😁. I know it's expensive, but I would definitely say it's worth splashing out on a good base for you makeup more than anything, because you could have the most expensive and most gorgeous lipstick EVER and a terrible foundation/BB cream, and if someone had to choose, they would most definitely pick the person with an amazing base and no lipstick.
Anyway, I hope this helped in some way!

Real Techniques Face Brushes

When it comes to applying makeup you're either a fingers girl, or a brushes girl. I am most definitely a brushes girl. And the Real Techniques brushes are amazing! They are really easy to clean because they are synthetic, this means no hairs fall out. They are really soft, and There is a HUGE range. These are just the base brushes:
. The powder brush
. The expert face brush
. The buffing brush
. The contour brush
. The pointed foundation brush
. The detailer brush

The powder brush, I use for an all-over bronze, and powder, obviously.
I use the expert face brush for foundation, BB cream, or concealer, mainly around my nose.
I use the buffing brush for blusher because it fits on the apples of my cheeks perfectly.
The contour brush, I use for contour (again, it's quite obvious. The clue's in the name), concealer, putting powder under my eyes to make sure my concealer doesn't go anywhere.
To be honest with you, I don't ever really use the pointed foundation brush. I just think it's a bit pointless. It's too small to use for foundation, but too big to do precise concealing, or something like that.
And last but not least, the detailer brush. I use this as a lip brush. It is the perfect size, but it's not that easy to clean. :( that's why it looks a bit red in the picture!
Overall I think the Real Techniques brushes are really nice, and really good value (You can get a set for around £20). There are other sets and other collections, all the brushes are different shapes and sizes, and all have different uses.
I use these brushes all the time and I thought I should tell you guys about them too. They are sold in Boots and Superdrug, in sets and singles, so they are really easy to pick up.
Hope this helps in some way, and make sure you comment down below telling me what you want me to do next.

Favourite Mascaras

Ever since I started out with make up, I've been very picky with mascaras. I think this was because I wasn't really allowed to wear make up. This meant I was quite shy to use mascara. Everything I tried just seemed to make my lashes clump together! So I took a trip to Boots in search of a reasonably priced mascara, that didn't make my lashes look clumpy or coated in mascara. Then I found the
Collection NO CLUMPS mascara - £2.99 via Superdrug.
It changed my opinion on mascara all together. It separated my lashes perfectly and lengthened them at the same time! So if your quite timid with mascara, I know I was at first, try this one! Obviously as I got more confident wearing make up and my family and friends got more and more used to it, so I moved on to a more volumising mascara, and I didn't mind as much I my lashes clumped together once in a while. This mascara was the
Maybelline The Falsies Volume express mascara - £7.99 via Superdrug.
If you have really sensitive eyes, like I do, you might not like this mascara because it is quite strong, and a little smelly (I know this sounds weird, but the smellier a mascara is, the worse my eyes react to it. They go red and start to sting, and the skin around them goes all dry. Sorry if this is a bit TMI!). I still think this is a really good mascara, I just can't slob loads on at one time.
The next mascara is the
Benefit There're Real mascara - £19.50 via Boots.
This is possibly one of my favourite mascaras ever! It is AWSOME at lengthening lashes and separates them nicely as well. It makes your lashes so long, that it gives them that "false lash effect"! That's why it's called There're Real! I really like this mascara, although I prefer the
Benefit Roller Lash mascara - £19.50 via Boots.
This mascara is INCREDIBLE! I think it's right to say it is probably one of my favourite mascaras of all time. It's just great at doing everything I expect of a mascara to do. It makes your lashes look really curly, really long and it is great for volume, but not clumpy. It also separates the lashes, but coats each one perfectly so that they have volume, length, and still look curly at the same time. This is definitely my favourite of these four mascaras. I know these last two are on the more expensive side, but I think it is definitely worth it .I think Benefit mascaras are probably my favourite brand for mascara in Boots.
I hope this helped you in some way! Please comment below for what you want to see next. ;)

Top two concealers

These are my two favourite concealers EVER! After trying lots of different concealers these are the two I have found to be the best:

Collection, lasting perfection concealer       £4.19
. Rimmel, wake me up concealer
£5.49

The collection one is, I would say full coverage, but it doesn't look cakey on the face. If you're looking for a full coverage concealer, this one is for you! It claims to last 16 hours. I wouldn't say it lasts quite that long, but it does last a long time. I think this is due to the fact that my 'T- zone' (your nose, chin and forehead) is very oily so I usually set it with a powder to stop it from moving around. I use this concealer on my spots/ blemishes and under my eyes in the summer, as it it long lasting. The Rimmel wake me up has a small amount of shimmer in it, so I don't want to look like a disco ball when I don't have sunglasses on! When it gets to around autumn I usually mix the Rimmel wake me up and the lasting perfection together to go under my eyes as it gives full coverage but is really brightening as well.
The Rimmel wake me up is an AWSOME brightening concealer which is really good for me as I've inherited dark under-eye circles. The only criticism I have with this concealer is that it doesn't last very long on my spots/ T-zone even when I set it with a powder. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just means I go through this concealer quite fast.
The thing with my skin during the summer is that it keeps changing skin tone - I went to Greece earlier in the year a got a bit of a tan and went a shade darker, then came back and within a few weeks my tan fades and I am back to my old skin tone again! This means I always have more than one shade of these concealers in my draw, which makes it hard to try and review different concealers.
Anyway, these are my top two concealers ever, ever, EVER!!! And if they are ever discontinued I will cry for a very long time!
